This Screw Block Manipulative set has been an amazing addition to our toy collection. My three year old daughter absolutely loves it, and when I watch her playing with it, I swear I can see the gears in her head turning as she learns and develops her motor skills and learns to recognize her colors. Doctors recently diagnosed her with a learning disability – it simply takes her longer to pick up skills than it takes other children. Since she is my third child, I had actually noticed certain delays in her development as compared to her older siblings.
That being said, this Screw Block set has been amazing for helping her learn and develop at her own pace. She spends entire afternoons with this set. The toy is really geared towards improving coordination, developing matching and patterning skills in toddlers.

It has also been great for learning her colors when my husband and I sit down to play with her as well. We will ask her to match the screws in the corresponding color hole, etc, and we ask her to repeat and identify color names with us while we play. It has been a slow process, but it has been a process all the same – we have really been able to see her develop as she learns how to use this toy. It has gotten to the point that this set is a staple in my bag when we go anywhere – it is quiet, and keeps her entertained for hours, and it is one that she always asks for.
Although the most important benefits of this toy have been watching how much my daughter both learns from it and enjoys it, there are some additional aspects I want to point out. I had tool sets for my older children as well, but the Screw Block Manipulative set has proved itself to be above and beyond any other set we have owned when it comes to quality.
It is extremely well made with solid, polished wood, so there is no chance of splinters or injury in that sense, and it is durable enough that I think it is safe to say that it will last us for several years as our daughter grows. The colors of the screws and the holes are also painted well, so that the colors perfectly match, making it easier for my daughter to identify matches.

And, of course, there is the simple fact that our daughter has spent so much more time playing with this set than my older children ever spent playing with theirs. The Screw Block Manipulative is truly the best set we have ever owned, and our family highly recommends it to any family with toddlers.
