The worldwide acclaim for the Ben 10 series has been steadily increasing since its emanation in 2005. The premise of the show revolves around the protagonist, Ben, and his adventures with his Omnitrix – a watch-like device which allows the individual wearing the Omnitrix to transform into ten unique alien forms. With the consistent increase in the popularity of the show, there has been an increasing demand for Ben 10 action figures and toys on the market for the young fans of the show.
Ben Tennyson, of course, is the protagonist of the series. The story begins on summer holidays when Ben, who is staying with his grandfather and his cousin for the summer, discovers the Omnitrix. He uses the device for the greater good – saving people from danger and disaster, and naturally, to fight off any villains who dare to cross his path. Acquiring the Omnitrix allowed him to grow from a clumsy, awkward teenager into a world-famous superhero.
Gwen Tennyson is Ben’s cousin, and in many ways, is pictured as far more naturally intelligent and adept at numerous skills throughout the development of the series. She is renowned as being incredibly beautiful and highly intelligent, with natural abilities in athletics and magic. At times, she is known in the series for teasing and mocking Ben, who is as naturally awkward as she is talented. She has green eyes, fiery red hair, and a personality to match. Action figures of Gwen are extremely popular, as her character is one of the most popular in the series.
Kevin Levin is a redeemed villain in the Ben 10 series. In the original series, he was one of the major foes of Ben and his team, depicted as a sociopath. He absorbed power from the Omnitrix and eventually became a mutant form of all ten alien forms from the Omnitrix. He has superhuman strength and extremely adept at combat. He has become a sort of anti-hero figure in the series, and is now no longer a villain, but has joined forces with Ben and his team (who were his previous foes).
Heatblast is an alien form which both Ben and Gwen appear as at different points in the series. According to the series, Heatblast is a DNA sample from the alien planet start Pyros. His power is heat and fire. His body is magma-based and therefore exudes incredible amounts of heat from his body. He has natural abilities with fire, including “pyrokinesis”, immunity from fire, and increased strength. He is one of the more popular alien forms in the series.
Every character in the series has a particular fan-base and devoted following. With the series constantly growing in creativity and even more in popularity, action figures of these, and all of the Ben 10 characters, are sure to be favoured by fans of the series.
